Top Ten Tips For Success
Donald Trump, the world’s second richest man, put his top ten tips for success on his Universities website (http://www.trumpuniversity.com/blog/index.cfm).
1. Be focused. Put everything you’ve got into what you do every day
- Believe in yourself. If you don’t, no one else will
- Be tenacious (good at remembering)
- Trust your instincts
- Maintain your momentum and keep everyone moving forward
- See yourself as victorious and leading a winning team
- Be passionate about what you do
- Live on the edge. Do not become complacent
- Leadership is not a group effort. If you’re in charge, then be in charge
- Never give up!
I would like to add the next ten tips for success at University:
- Choose the right course. Don’t try to do something that is too easy or too difficult, and do something you have a real passion for.
- Be an achiever, try to do better. I believe at first instance it is not about the result but about `trying`. If you don’t try, you will never know how good you are
- Be not afraid to fail: If you never fail you will most likely never have tried.
- Focus on learning, not on assignments. If you focus on learning the results will come.
- But make sure that you understand what the teacher is expecting from you. Read the assignment requirements
- Start study early. The sooner you start your preparation, the less stress you will encounter at the end of the semester
- You can do more than you might think: everyone can be more productive if you plan your activities better.
- Try to work in groups that stimulate you, help you to achieve better results and support you in difficult times
- `Make it happen`, be pro-active, don’t just sit back and listen. Participate in discussions and don’t be afraid to give your opinion or to disagree with the teacher. Ask the teacher questions if you don’t understand something.
- Be positive, things will get better and yes indeed: never give up!
