Helen Brake is studying English Literature at the University of Queensland. She has recently returned from four months English teaching in south-west China, and enjoys continuing to meet students from other countries at a volunteer-run, conversational English class in inner-Brisbane. Her essay won Third Prize in the 2009 Margaret Dooley Awards.
